Most mornings, I walk with Blair, my female black lab, up and down Old Town. Here is the beginning of our one-mile loop. Blair is in front of the Monrovia Public Library...(the city shot fireworks off the roof on the Fourth of July!) Note the banner in the background honoring Kim Rhode, USA's Skeet Shooting female champion, a resident of this town. She earned consecutive medals in her sport for five straight Olympics. She was honored last Sunday right here.
Blair seems happy here...She has a new pink harness. It's mesh and quite comfy. I got tired of people thinking she is a boy...Blair is all girly-girl!
.....Next is Blair midway down the street, posing in front of one of the cute bears dotting the sidewalk...don't know the history of these yet, but very adorable.
Note the movie marquee..looks "old-fashioned" outside but renovated and very modern inside, very LA-ish. This past weekend, this theatre hosted an indie Action Film Festival, from all over LA. The town apparently is the backdrop for many Hollywood movie shoots, because of its old-time charm...kinda like San Luis Obispo.
Another bear. Who is cuter...Blair or the bear?
So long for now...Hope you can come this way to visit...Lots to do, eat, and see....especially eat!
